I have a ring (fake, of course) that’s pretty cute. In some parts the gold has faded to a silver, and I was wondering if there was a way to take off the rest of the gold.
How to remove gold finish from a fake ring?

December 25th, 2009What’s with all these companies asking for our gold in return for cash?
December 25th, 2009MorningStar asked:
Do these ‘CASH FOR GOLD’ companies have insider knowledge that paper money will soon be as valuable as toilet paper and therefore getting rid of it in return for our valuable gold is of the utmost urgency? If that is indeed the case, wouldn’t we be wise to hold on to our gold?

Are statues and gold in churches really necessary?
December 24th, 2009Adam Ramesh asked:
I always wondered, in many catholic and gothic cathederals in like Europe (esp. Italy, Spain, Portugal) and Latin America and South AMerica, there is soooooooooo many statues, a LOT of GOLD!!!!!!!, and stainded glass windows. Do you think that all of that is necessary? Dont you think that that money should go to charity instead? In the US, churches we donate money to charitable orginizations and have like no gold or statues in our churches. Just a wooden cross at the altar.

December 24th, 2009How does Gold impose too many constraints on Central Bankers?
December 23rd, 2009football__ asked:
I read somewhere that “central bankers refuse to rely exclusively on gold, for gold imposes too many constraints on them”.
Can someone explain to me how this is?
And while we’r still talking about gold, if, hypothetically speaking, we were using real gold and silver as currency, would we be in a financial crisis?
I’m writing a paper on “Fiat Money and Gold Currency” (not a Gold Standard but actual gold as currency) so i would welcome anyone with some knowledge on this subject to provide me with some insight.
Thanks!
